Innocent came to Sledge asking for a little piece of countryside in the heart of London. "Ooo arrr!" said we, pulling on our best wellies. Before you know it, Regents Park has a brand new family two-day event, entertaining up to 60,000 people over the weekend.
Everything your inner-yokel could crave was covered: duck herding, ferret racing and, of course, morris dancing. There was a Village Green, Sustainability Zone, Wellbeing Zone and Kids Area, not forgetting a gastronomic farmers' market packed with organic homemade delights. Like-minded brands were invited to join the fun and four live music stages boasted some of the biggest names in modern folk.
Result? The Fete gave innocent the media platform it deserved, leaving no relevant
communication channel unfurrowed - as they say, where there's muck, there's brass.
