Key considerations when delivering events overseas

In-person events are back and so is international travel, however it’s safe to say that the way we design, produce and deliver them has changed.

Leaning on her experiences working on face-to-face events in international markets of late, Sledge’s Project Director, Elaine Byrne has shared some key trends and takeaways with Conference & Meetings World.

In the piece Elaine covers some valuable points, including:

  • The importance of planning ahead, as both staffing and material related shortages remain as we recover from the pandemic.

  • Our comfort levels vary when it comes to attending in-person events, and this is especially the case when it comes to an international audience, who are subject to varying restrictions in their home countries. This means we should prepare to create multiple experiences within the one event, to cater to their needs.

  • Communication is more important than ever when it comes to ensuring audience members feel at ease. This relates to pre-event communications which detail the health and safety measures that will be in place, and the preparing of live event comms in the event these measures need to change.
