Deep dive: employee expectations in 2023

Our Producer, Becca Shanks has worked within the event industry for 12+ years (including seven of those at Sledge).

She has therefore experienced different company cultures, and understands the unique nature of event prof life – which can mean long hours in the lead up to a project's 'live' date and onsite, and there’s often time away from loved ones.

This means it’s important that industry employers shape their organisations to reflect the needs of their people.

It's especially important today, as employee expectations have changed. They seek a better balance, an organisation where they feel valued and can share their ideas, and ongoing development is key.

Based on her experiences and role as an employee, Becca shared some of the top things event profs look for in employers today with M&IT Magazine.

These include:
