Sustainability Policy
Sledge Employee Trust incorporates Sledge and SWM Partners. As an Employee-Owned Business, we have chosen to integrate people, planet, and prosperity (for all) into the very heart of our business model and measure our progress against the four governing principles of sustainable development:
- Inclusivity: we will engage with our key stakeholders to raise awareness of sustainability issues and opportunities, understand what is meaningful to them, and take this into consideration when developing our objectives, targets and plans
- Stewardship: will use resources responsibly, protect the environment, and prevent pollution so that future generations can also benefit from these resources
- Integrity: we are committed to doing the right thing and speaking up for what is right, especially when it feels difficult, and the consequences are likely to be challenging.
- Transparency: we will be honest, clear, and timely in our communications and share learnings with our key stakeholders, and the wider industry, to facilitate a collaborative approach
Our sustainability vision is “to embed sustainability into our entire business model, our culture, and our events, so we deliver measurable and meaningful positive change through purposeful collaboration and compelling communications.”
In accordance with ISO 20121:2012 (International Standard for Event Sustainability) and ISO 14001:2015 (International Standard for Environmental Management), this policy represents a framework for setting objectives that address our material issues and opportunities in order for this vision to be realised. We are committed to meeting all applicable compliance obligations and will monitor and measure our sustainability performance to achieve continual improvement.
Our Objectives
- To expand the scope of our annual carbon footprint to include events, improve data quality and completeness, and reduce our carbon emissions.
- To increase sustainability awareness and work collaboratively as a Trust to uphold our vision and ensure everyone understands the part they play and how to personally contribute.
- To work in partnership with our supply chain to deliver increased sustainability performance.
- To ensure DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, Belonging) and well-being best practice is embedded into everything we do and measure our progress against meaningful indicators.
- To create measurable and meaningful positive change by measuring our performance against auditable criteria, and the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17.
- To engage with external stakeholders on our sustainability performance through an authentic communications strategy
This policy is annually reviewed by staff and senior management and is available to all key stakeholders through our public website.
